Luke Watson

Winemaker

lukew@briarridge.com.au

Luke Watson has been with Briar Ridge since 2002. Luke’s passion for winemaking was ignited in 1999 after a trip to the vineyards of France and Germany.  On his return to home in the Hunter Valley, he transferred his studies in the field of Environmental Science to his beloved field of Winemaking. Since then he has had experience with many Hunter wineries overseeing fruit from regions such as the Hunter Valley, Orange, Wrattonbully, Coonawarra, and Tumbarumba. Luke was a finalist in the 2009 “The Wine Society’ Young Winemaker of the Year. Luke’s good sense of humour, and easy going personality, nicely compliments a fierce desire to produce the best wines possible.

Karl Stockhausen

Guest Winemaker

Karl Stockhausen has been a winemaker in the Hunter Valley for over 50 years. His name was behind the marvellous Lindeman’s Hunter Valley Classics in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s. Today he continues his involvement with quality wines by selecting the fruit and supervising the winemaking process for two wines that typify traditional Hunter Styles; the Karl Stockhausen Signature Semillon and the Karl Stockhausen Signature Shiraz. In June 2007, Karl was officially made a “Living Legend” by receiving one of the six inaugural recipients of the Hunter Living Legends Awards.
