Displaying a nose that is framed by dark brooding fruits, licorice strap and a hint of eucalypt as well as olive tapenade and baking spices. The palate is generous and intense with black fruit, dark chocolate and chiseled tannins, French oak adds complex spice before a long finish.
tasting notes

Aromas of blackberry compote, cracked pepper, dried herbs and a touch of graphite rise from the glass, underpinned by savoury hints of black olive and toasted spice. The palate is bold and structured, offering layers of ripe blackcurrant, cocoa and earthy undertones. Fine-grained tannins and well-integrated French oak provide depth and definition, carrying through to a persistent, elegantly dry finish.

Further information

Harvested in the cool of night and cold-soaked during transport to the Hunter Valley, the wine underwent closed-tank fermentation to retain higher alcohol and intensity. Pressed near the end of primary fermentation, it completed both primary and secondary (MLF) fermentation in stainless steel before maturing 18 months in a 40:60 blend of new and seasoned French oak barriques. Only the finest barrels were hand-selected, with light fining to preserve tannin, colour, and structure.
