2025 Stockhausen Chardonnay
Grown in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, this Chardonnay is a nod to the great Karl Stockhausen. Crops are low-yielding, meaning we get an excellent concentration of fruit flavours.
Toasty oak nuances weave seamlessly throughout, enhancing the palate with subtle layers of vanilla and spice. These complexities perfectly complement the bright, fresh aromas of white peach and delicate citrus blossom, creating a harmonious balance between fruit purity and oak influence.
Seared scallops or creamy asparagus pasta.
Barrel fermented in both new and seasoned French oak using only indigenous yeast. The fruit was de-juiced straight to oak with full solids, where is was stirred monthly until spring. At this time the wine was assembled in tank, remaining on lees until late spring to encourage reductive yeast autolysis.
The 2025 vintage in the Hunter Valley was shaped by well-balanced growing conditions and attentive vineyard management. The season delivered clean, well-ripened fruit across the region, with an early harvest that flowed smoothly. Quality fruit integrity and even ripening were maintained throughout, resulting in well‑structured grapes with depth, clarity, and regional character.
